Brief Profile

Dr. Jafar is currently Chief Programs Officer (Sr. consultant) at SaveLIFE Foundation. She holds advisory role in various organisations and represents on boards of trustees of various national and international civil society organisations. She is an executive coach and a development professional with a focus on gender issues.

Since childhood she is passionate for social inclusion and saving lives. As a result, she chose to work in Development Sector and dedicate her life to public service. Her doctoral research was focused on Business Continuity Management. She founded DevLens to empower organisations and individuals through a Development Lens. As an internationally certified life coach and an executive coach, she loves helping individuals and groups grow to their full potential. She is also a Co-Founder of Tanyak, a not for profit organization dedicated to building resilience in communities. In the past 21 years of her career, she has led and supported more than 100 disaster response operations in South Asia. She has received appreciation for her work as executive coach and a development professional.

She has also played a critical role in strategy and planning for climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, gender equality, social inclusion, and health infrastructure. She has authored articles and research publications in national media and international journals. In 2015, the State Department, Government of USA selected Dr. Jafar for the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in Disaster Management.
She has worked as a consultant with NIDM, GIZ, Oxfam, Child-Fund International, and Sphere India. Prior to that, she has worked with CARE International, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)- South Asia and India Delegations, and UNDP in India.
